After
a 4 hour delay in leaving Abu Dhabi and then a 14 hour plane ride we found
ourselves in Melbourne very late on a Wednesday night. We were met by The other
Spaz’s mum and a rather sleazy looking mustached individual (thanks to it
being Movember) that was The other Spaz’s brother. The other Spaz then got to
pat, hug and play with Max, her now somewhat overweight dog :-) We spent the
next few days busily exploring the Mornington Peninsular, visiting the
strawberry farm, hedge maze and learning the history of Point Nepean. Next up
were the wineries, breweries and dairies of the Yarra Valley where we enjoyed
sampling the bubbles at the champagne house Moët Domain Chandon.
Special thanks to the moustached one for being our driver. We managed to
squeeze in the Queen Victoria Market (where Spaz got a great fair dinkum Ozzie
hat for his noggin') and playing some kubb whilst catching up with friends.
After
our roadtrip we returned to Melbourne for a few more days with family and
friends. Spaz was introduced to many friends and received the highest
compliment a man can get … one friend said ‘your boy is lovely, definitely a
keeper’. We managed to have a lovely family dinner out at The Great Eastern
Hakka where Spaz worked when he lived in Melbourne. The House of Spaz fully
endorse this restaurant and each and everyone of you should go.
